Lost your flow? Here's how I got mine back again
Posted by
onBeen feeling stuck? Lost your focus and momentum? It happens to all of us from time to time. In fact, if we’d spoken over the last fortnight or so, you’d probably have heard me beating myself up for not being on top of things myself.
It took me a while to realise that I’ve been trying to swim against the current and that maybe, just maybe, the Universe had other ideas.
There's a right time for everything
Whether it’s work, rest, sleep or play, there are things that call to be done or experienced in any given moment, sometimes with an urgency that can’t be ignored, and sometimes more quietly, as a gentle yearning.
And when you resist that - when you ignore your instincts about where to put your energy at any given time - you’re actually taking a step back from your intuition and guidance, and instead handing the steering wheel to other, less sophisticated aspects of your intelligence (like fear, habit and the need to be in control).
Letting go of needing to be in control
In meditation this morning, my attention was gently drawn to a phrase that I’ve stuck on my vision board for the year, which says, “I trust in my heart that I’m right on schedule.”
In that moment it instantly became clear to me that despite my efforts to the contrary, everything I’ve been trying to push forward on my schedule is unfolding exactly as it should.
Returning to loving acceptance
Next came this gentle reminder: “You are enough. Nothing could make you any more perfect than you are now. And that means that it’s time to stop criticising yourself for not doing more or being more, and to replace the mental chatter with messages of loving acceptance for yourself and the situation you find yourself in.”
Whoosh. It’s like I’ve been holding my breath for weeks, and have finally given myself permission to exhale.
Because the truth is, when we try to hold fast to our own agendas and to resist the gentle unfolding of the universe, we put our energy on what’s not working instead of what is.
And when we let go of that need to control, and instead take a moment to sense where our energy and attention is most called to go in a given moment, we find ourselves back in the flow.
That’s where I found myself this morning, and why you’re (finally) reading this blog post. I trust in my heart that it has reached you right on schedule and that if you've been stuck in a similar place those words will resonate with you as much as they did with me.
Trust the universe and Go with the Flow™
The flower essence I’ll be turning to in coming days to help me to return to a state of trust in the universe and its gentle unfolding is Go with the Flow™.
It’s a beautiful energy to work with when you find yourself swimming against the current, fighting to resist change or trying to control all the little details of your life.
(Go with the Flow™ is available as an individual flower essence, and can also be found in our In with the New Flower Essence Kit™).
Release old patterns
Since some of these issues are old patterns for me, which I well and truly thought I’d left behind, I’ll also be taking some Baggage Buster™ Flower Essence drops and spraying Baggage Buster™ Flower Essence Mist liberally around my home over the next week or so. (I’ve learned this lesson the hard way, and would like to complete it easily and joyfully now, thanks very much, and these products are beautiful for helping to release old patterns and outdated energy). Baggage Buster™ Flower Essence Mist has a refreshing and uplifting spearmint and lemon myrtle scent, and is available individually or in the Baggage Buster™ Kit, which also contains Baggage Buster™ Flower Essence.
